We spoke to Ryan Wilson from the LS11 – Leeds United Fan Hub to get a Leeds perspective ahead of the big game on Saturday…

Firstly, what went wrong at Cardiff?

We played the same style of football but we looked rusty where as before the lockdown we were very sharp. Cardiff capitalised on a couple of our mistakes and we were not clinical enough in the final third, it was a bad day at the office.

Leeds vs Fulham: What’s the first thing that comes to mind?

Two good teams playing a good style of football.

Quite a few neutrals thought that the break was a good thing for Leeds and expected you to be fitter than everyone else after a rest. Was you confident that the team would carry on as normal at the restart?

I never agreed with that, I believe form is a huge thing and Leeds were in fantastic form, five wins and five clean sheets before the football stopped. After three months of no football the form table is wiped clean.

Given the fact that your fans have been waiting for this promotion for years now, do you think it’s going to be an advantage or a disadvantage to your players playing in an empty Elland Road?

There is a lot of expectancy at Leeds United amongst the fans and when things do not go well at Elland Road the crowd can make it well known they are not happy however our crowd can really pick the lads up and give them a boost when it is needed so I think the Leeds United squad will miss the home crowd.

This weekend we play each other whilst Brentford host WBA. Is this the weekend that’ll define the season?

I think realistically no it is not as there is still another seven games after this weekend but who whoever walks away with all the points will be in a very good place to push for promotion.

Leeds and West Brom have been the top two practically all season, but if one of you was to miss out somehow, who will it be to and why, Fulham or Brentford?

Before lockdown I would have said Fulham as I think Fulham have a good squad to back up a good style of football, however Brenford looks strong and full of character.

All season people have said that we probably have the best squad whilst you have the best starting XI. So, what would your combined Leeds/ Fulham team be?

I would go with the full Leeds starting 11 however I would swap Mitrovic for Bamford…

A simple yes or no, are you falling apart… again?!

No!

How do you see the game going on Saturday?

Tough and tight, I think there will be a lot of respect for each other. I’ll go for a 1-0 win to Leeds.

Listening to your head and not your heart, how are the Top 6 and bottom 3 going to finish?

I think the top 6 will remain the top 6. In this order: WBA, Leeds, Brentford, Fulham, Forest and Preston.  Brentford to beat Fulham in the final (sorry!)…
