We find ourselves against a slightly out of form Everton side on Saturday, is three points potentially on the cards?

Despite a bright start to the season, Everton have dropped off recently with three losses in a row. There is no doubting the talent in Ancelotti’s squad but injuries and poor performances have attributed to their losses. Despite our form not being much better we could still contend with Everton this weekend however the international break looks to have favoured them. It has allowed key men to get fit for their side so they will be at near enough full strength. This could either be really competitive or an Everton walk over.

In terms of our team, I would keep the team unchanged from West Ham especially with Lemina still a doubt. That is Areola in goal, a back four of Robinson, Adarabioyo, Andersen and Aina, Anguissa and Reed holding with Cairney in attacking midfield and a front three of Lookman, Mitrovic and Decordova-Reid.

I think we will lose 2-1 with a Cairney goal.

COLLINS JOHN’S VIEW

Where do I start really?! Looking back at the West Ham game, I felt we played well and grinded everything out to get something from the game. To come away with a loss was very unlucky. We need to forget about what happened at the end with the penalty. It’s in the past now, let’s move forward from it.

After a solid start to the season, Everton have suffered 3 losses in a row which shows that they are beatable. They are a good side with a lot pace and power in midfield but I still think we can hurt them in the backline. Especially in the fullback positions where we will have space to attack. It’s the perfect game for Ademola Lookman to put the penalty miss behind him and make a big impression against his former club. COME ON YOU WHITES!

PREDICTION: FULHAM 1-0 EVERTON

LAST TIME OUT

FULHAM 2-0 EVERTON (2018/19)

The last time we played Everton we beat them 2-0 at Craven Cottage in April 2019. Ryan Babel and Tom Cairney got the goals in what was then Fulham’s first win in three months. Current loanee Ademola Lookman came off the bench for Everton that day.

BATTLE TO WATCH

ANTONEE ROBINSON VS JAMES RODRÍGUEZ

James Rodriguez is a 29-year-old Columbian attacking midfielder who is best known for his performances at the 2014 World Cup. He won the Golden Boot at that tournament leading to a successful move to Real Madrid and a loan spell at Bayern Munich. This is the 3rd club that James has linked up with Carlo Ancelotti and this was a big part of bringing the superstar to Merseyside. Antonee Robinson will need to bring his A-game to ensure that Rodriguez doesn’t have a big impact on the game because if he does, we have no chance.
