Julian Savitch-Lee

Why Fulham?

Plough Lane was at the end of my road, but when I asked ‘football, can I come?’ as my aunt left the Boxing Day dinner table in 1986, there was only one outcome.

Favourite match?

Possibly Basel away. Amazing to qualify out of the group given the journey from the lower leagues.

Favourite goal?

Conroy from the halfway line.

Favourite season?

Favourite current and/or ever player?

Gordon Davies.

What made you get involved with the walk?

I felt it would be a suitable outlet for my fundraising efforts in 2017 and a big challenge (to walk to Reading).

How’s training going?

Probably could do better but hope to pick up the pace with 4 weeks to go.

If you could pick one person from Fulham past or present to walk the final few miles with you who would it be & why?

Jari Litmanen.  I need to know how he kept us up without even playing a minute.

You’re going to need a few tunes to keep you going. Which artist features most on your playlist and what’s your guilty pleasure song?

No playlist, there for a chat with the team. Will keep my ears open.

Will you make kick-off?

As long as we don’t have to walk through the night, yes.

What luxury item will you be taking with you?

If I can get hold of them in time, a pair of Parley Ultra boost trainers. Recommended by shoe designer and brother of Patrick, Adam Roberts as the comfiest.

What’s going to be the toughest part of this whole experience?

The enduring distance and the pain it will cause.

Finally, Pie or Pasty, which filling?

Cheese and onion pasty.
